Salt Lake City Utah - Population: 181,743
Salt Lake City has many informal neighborhoods. The eastern portion of the city has higher property values than its western counterpart. This is a result of the railroad being built in the western half as well as scenic views from inclined grounds in the eastern portion. Immigrants find housing more affordable on the west side, which results in demographic differences. Interstate 15 further solidified these divisions. The Utah Museum of Fine Arts, Utah Museum of Natural History, and the Museum of Church History and Art are some of the museums located in Salt Lake City. Other museums include the Utah State Historical Society, Daughters of Utah Pioneer Memorial Museum, Fort Douglas Military Museum, and the Social Hall Heritage Museum. Clark Planetarium at the Gateway Mall houses an IMAX theater. The Utah Arts Festival has been held annually since 1977 with an average attendance of 80,000. About 130 booths are available for visual artists and there are five performance venues for musicians.

Taylorsville Utah - Population: 57,439
The first Mormon pioneer settlers, Joseph and Susanna Harker, forded the Jordan River and settled along the Jordan River in 1848. They and others settled along the river bottoms, where they dug ditches and cleared land for small farms and pastures. In 1858 the U.S. Army marched through the area on their way to Camp Floyd in Fairfield. A small adobe fort was built in the 1860s on bluffs above the river to protect settlers from Indian attacks that never materialized, and it was soon abandoned. In 1863, the center of the valley was divided into the West Jordan, South Jordan, East Jordan, and North Jordan LDS Wards. South Jordan and West Jordan kept their names and East Jordan became Midvale. North Jordan in time became Taylorsville and Bennion. By 1876, the South Jordan and North Jordan Canals were joined to carry water from the Jordan River. This brought land from South Jordan to Granger under cultivation and, therefore, more families to the area, almost all of them farmers.

Kearns Utah - Population: 33,659
Kearns is a township and census-designated place (CDP) in Salt Lake County, Utah, United States. Named after Utah's U.S. Senator Thomas Kearns, it had a population of 33,659 at the 2000 Census. This was a small increase over the 1990 figure of 28,374 due to a small part of the territory incorporated into Taylorsville in 1996. A recently-elected community council is expected to call for a vote of incorporation in the near future, since Utah's current township law expires in 2010. If the law is not extended, it would either have to revert to its former status as an unincorporated area of the county, incorporate as a city, or be annexed into a nearby town. Kearns came into existence 1 May 1942 as a World War II United States Army Air Force training facility known as Kearns Army Air Base (also known as Kearns Center; redesignated: Camp Kearns, 1 January 1944).
