Choctaw is a growing suburban town in Oklahoma County, Oklahoma and is part of the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area. The population was 10,529 in July 2005, up from 9,377 at the 2000 census.While Choctaw is located in the geographic center of Eastern Oklahoma County, it enjoys relative prosperity on the fringes of the urbanized eastern edge of Oklahoma City. Affordable housing, excellent schools, and Oklahoma City accessibility makes this quite residential suburb a very desirable place to live. With several hundred new homes being built or planned for in the near future, the demand for retail stores, restaurants and services is eminent.
