Woodbury is a town and village (Woodbury was created into a village in August of 2006) in Orange County, New York, United States. The population was 9,460 at the 2000 census. The origin of the town name is no longer known. The Town of Woodbury is in the southeastern part of the county. The region was once called Woodbury Clove ("valley"). The Town of Woodbury was incorporated in 1889 (the town was originally created in 1863, but was dissolved soon afterwards). The Town of Woodbury, which comprises the hamlets of Central Valley and Highland Mills; and the area which was formerly known as the hamlet of Woodbury Falls, was officially created on December 19, 1889, by an act of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. The first town meeting was held the following year on March 4th with John A. Patterson presiding as Supervisor. The second Supervisor was James Seaman.

Huntington New York - Population: 18,403
The town was first settled in 1653. In 1872, part of the town was removed to form the Town of Babylon. Huntington was named an All-America City in 2002 by the National Civic League. It was also a finalist in 2001. Huntington declared itself independent from Great Britain in June of 1774 -- two years before the general Declaration of Independence by the colonies. The west town line is the border of Nassau County, New York, and the north town line, delineated by the Long Island Sound, is the border of Connecticut. As of the census² of 2000, there were 195,289 people, 65,917 households, and 52,338 families residing in the town. The population density was 802.5/km² (2,078.4/mi²).

North New Hyde Park New York - Population: 14,542
North New Hyde Park is a census-designated place in Nassau County, New York, United States. The population was 14,542 at the 2000 census. There were 5,032 households out of which 32.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.9% were married couples living together, 9.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.4% were non-families. 17.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.89 and the average family size was 3.28. The median income for a household in the CDP was $69,792, and the median income for a family was $80,688. Males had a median income of $53,667 versus $42,162 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $31,998. About 1.8% of families and 2.7% of the population were below the poverty line, including 3.1% of those under age 18 and 4.0% of those age 65 or over.

New Cassel is a hamlet and census-designated place in Nassau County, New York, United States. The population was 13,300 at the 2000 census. There were 2,972 households out of which 40.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.2% were married couples living together, 22.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 17.6% were non-families. 12.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. Farmingdale New York - Population: 8,399
The first settler in the area was Thomas Powell, who arrived in 1687. On October 18, 1695, he purchased a 15 square mile tract of land from three Native American tribes. This is known as the Bethpage Purchase and includes what is now Farmingdale, as well as Bethpage, Melville, North Massapequa, Old Bethpage, Plainedge, and Plainview. One of two houses he built in the area (1700) still stands on Merritts Road in Farmingdale.
The community began growing in earnest when the Long Island Rail Road arrived in 1841. The area was called Hardscrabble, but the name was changed to Farmingdale in 1845. The village was incorporated in 1904. In 1912 the State Agricultural and Technical school was established. Later, Farmingdale became a locus for the aircraft industry, notably Republic Aviation Company.

Williston Park New York - Population: 7,261
Williston Park is an incorporated village in Nassau County, New York in the United States. The population was 7,261 at the 2000 census. The Village of Williston Park is in the Town of North Hempstead. Williston Park was founded in 1926 when 195 acres (0.79 km2) of land were purchased by New York City developer William Chatlos. Chatlos was seeking to create an affordable, planned community for New York City residents wishing to move to the suburbs. Later that year, residents of the village voted to break with the residents of East Williston and formally incorporate the village. Williston Park is named for Samuel Willis, a settler who came to the area in the late 17th century. The home of one of Willis's family members stood in the village until the 1950s. The village's current mayor is Ludwig A. Odierna. The Village Board consists of Deputy Mayor Ann Marie Smith, Kevin Dunn, Bill Darmstat, and Beth Spodsendout. All are members of the Representative Party.

East Hills New York - Population: 6,842
East Hills is a village in Nassau County, New York on the North Shore of Long Island. It is considered part of the Greater Roslyn area, which is anchored by the Village of Roslyn. When East Hills was incorporated in 1931, the land area of East Hills was 98% farm and estate holdings, with 65 homes occupying the remaining 2%. Today, the percentage is reversed; with 98% of the land area occupied by homes, and less than 2% remains undeveloped. There are about 2,300 homes today in East Hills, and the population is approaching 7,200 people. As of the United States 2000 Census, the village population was 6,842. The Village of East Hills overlaps the Town of Oyster Bay and the Town of North Hempstead. For many years, much of what now is East Hills was the home of a few wealthy families. On Labor Day 2006, The Park at East Hills fully opened. The pool and grill had been opened since July 4, 2006. The park is on the location of the old Roslyn Air National Guard station.
