The area now known as Cherry Hill was originally settled by the Lenni-Lenape Native Americans who coexisted peacefully with the first settlers from Britain, Quaker followers of William Penn who arrived in the late 1600s. The first settlement was a small cluster of homes named Colestown, in the perimeters of what is now the Colestown Cemetery on the corner of Route 41, King's Highway and Church Road. The municipality was founded on February 25, 1844, as Delaware Township from half of the area of Waterford Township. The township underwent explosive growth in the post-World War II era, with continued population growth through the 1980s. Today, the municipality's population remains stable with new development generally occurring in small pockets of custom luxury homes, low-income housing, or through the rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of existing commercial and industrial areas.

Moorestown New Jersey - Population: 13,860
Moorestown originated as a Quaker town. It is not certain when the first white settlers came here, but it was in 1682 that the road from Burlington to Salem, passing through what is now Moorestown, was laid out. Dr. John Rodman bought 500 acres of land in 1686 in what is now the western section of Moorestown, but was called Rodmantown at that time. What is now the east part of Moorestown was called Chestertown. The name Moorestown didn't come into use until the mid 1800's, named after Moore's Tavern. The first meetinghouse was built out of logs in 1700, but burned down in 1720. Another meetinghouse was built out of stone, but was erected in 1802 for a burial site. Until 1867, the only form of transportation from Moorestown to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania was stagecoach, until a railroad was built. Before this, Coles Hotel was a major resting point. The Historical Society of Moorestown was formed in 1969. Moorestown today remains alcohol free.

Haddonfield New Jersey - Population: 11,659
Haddonfield was the second municipality in New Jersey (after Cape May) to set up a historical preservation district. In keeping with the historic appearance of the borough, some candidates for commissioner give out colored ribbons to their supporters in lieu of the more common yard signs.
From Prohibition to the present day, the borough has not issued any liquor licenses. However, it was at the Indian King Tavern of Haddonfield in the winter of 1777 that the New Jersey General Assembly met and declared that New Jersey was a free and independent state.

Marlton New Jersey - Population: 10,260
Marlton was founded by Welsh and English farmers beginning in 1676. Originally called "Evesham" (named for an English village outside Stratford-upon-Avon), the town was incorporated as one of the original 13 townships in Burlington County in 1688.
The name Marlton first appeared in the early 19th century. The name is derived from marl clay, which is commonly found in the local soil. The discovery of the marl content helped local business and farmers, and caused the first "building boom", occurring in the 1830s and 1840s. Marl continued to be excavated in Marlton until 1930, when the pits were shut down.
Marlton was considered a village in 1756. In 1845, the title was official. Now it is an unincorporated area within Evesham Township that is tracked for reporting purposes by the United States Census Bureau.
