Saginaw is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 61,799 (Census Bureau estimate for July 2004 is 59,045 residents). It is the county seat of Saginaw County6. The city is served by MBS International Airport, which is in Freeland, a central point for two other nearby cities, Midland and Bay City. The city is adjacent to Saginaw Charter Township. The city's main entertainment can be found in the downtown area, where places such as The Dow Event Center and the newly-restored Temple Theatre offer live entertainment. The Dow Event Center is also home to the city's junior ice hockey team, the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League. The downtown area, which contains a number of office buildings from the early 1900s, is located near the Saginaw Club (local businessmen's club founded in 1889) and an educational complex. Two formerly grand hotels have been converted into section 8 housing.

Midland Michigan - Population: 41,685
Midland is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan in the Flint/Tri-Cities region of the state. It is the county seat of Midland County. While the vast majority of the city exist within Midland County, a small portion of the city extends into Bay County. Most of the city's area is incorporated from Midland Township. The city's population was 41,685 as of the 2000 census. The 2008 census estimate places the population at 40,917.[4] It is the principal city of the Midland Micropolitan Statistical Area. The portion of the city in Bay County is included in the Bay City Metropolitan Statistical Area for statistical reasons. The Dow Chemical Company was founded in Midland in 1897. Its world headquarters are still located there. Through the influence of a Dow Chemical plant opening in Handa, Aichi, Japan, Midland and Handa have become sister cities.[5] The Dow Corning Corporation and Chemical Bank are also headquartered in Midland.

Shields Michigan - Population: 6,590
Shields is an unincorporated community in Thomas Township, Saginaw County in the U.S state of Michigan. It is also a census-designated place for statistical purposes, but with no legal status as an incorporated municipality. The population of the CDP was 6,590 at the 2000 census. The community of Shields is located on M-46/Gratiot Road just west of the Tittabawasee River. In the 2000 census, the CDP included an area bounded on the east by the Tittabawasee River, north to State Street, west to N. Miller Road, south to Geddes Road, west to N. Thomas Road, south to M-46/Gratiot Road, east to Swan Creek, south to the railroad crossing on Schomaker Road, east along the rail tracks to Stroebel Road, northwest to Ronald Drive and east to the Tittabawasee River. Most of the CDP is within Thomas Township with a small portion extending into northwest James Township. Paines is a place within James Township and the CDP located on Dutch Road between River Roads and Stroebel Roads.
