The area which became the Town of Concord was originally known as "Musketaquid", situated at the confluence of the Sudbury and Assabet rivers. Native Americans had cultivated corn crops there; the rivers were rich with fish and the land was lush and arable. However, the area was largely depopulated by the smallpox plague that swept across the Americas after the arrival of Europeans. In 1635, a group of British settlers led by Peter Bulkeley and Simon Willard negotiated a land purchase with the remnants of the local tribe; that six-square-mile purchase formed the basis of the new town, which was called "Concord" in appreciation of the peaceful acquisition. The Battle of Lexington and Concord was the initial conflict in the American Revolutionary War. On April 19th, 1775, a force of British Army regulars marched from Boston to Concord to capture a cache of arms that was reportedly stored in the town.

Acton Massachusetts - Population: 20,753
During the 19th Century, Acton participated in the growing Industrial Revolution. By the mid-1800s, Acton was an industrial center for the production of barrels (cooperage). There were also three grist mills and four saw mills in town. [1]
In 1843, the railroad came to Acton. The Fitchburg Railroad was routed through South and West Acton so that it could serve the mills. South Acton became a busy rail center and was the division point for the Marlborough Branch Railroad which ran through the towns of Maynard, Sudbury and Hudson. With the railroad came increasing development in those areas. In addition to the Fitchburg Railroad, two other Railroads crossed the town: The Nashua and Acton, and the Framingham and Lowell. These two railroads shared a double track right-of-way than ran from West Concord (aka Concord Junction) through East Acton and then splitting in North Acton in the vicinity of Route 27 and Ledgerock Way.

Maynard Massachusetts - Population: 10,433
Maynard, located on the Assabet River, was first settled in 1638 and was officially incorporated in 1871. Maynard was originally part of the towns Stow and Sudbury. The community was named after Amory Maynard, a local mill owner. The community grew with the Assabet Woolen Mill and made the highest percentage of wool for U.S. Military uniforms. After the mill shut down in 1950, local businessmen bought the property and began leasing it as office space. Digital Equipment Corporation moved into the complex in 1957. The company eventually called Maynard its worldwide headquarters, giving Maynard the nickname "Mini Computer Capital of the World".
"The Mill", as locals call it, was renovated in the late 1990s as Clock Tower Place and houses many businesses, including the worldwide headquarters of Monster. The mill complex is also home to the oldest working hand wound clock in the country.

Boxborough Massachusetts - Population: 5,097
Boxborough was first settled in 1680 and was officially incorporated in 1783. According to local folklore, the town was named because of its shape. Farmers who lived on the edges of neighboring Stow, Littleton, and Harvard were frustrated because they were too far away from church. They ended up acquiring a meetinghouse and formed a new town by combining parts of those neighboring towns. The resulting town resembled a square, so the town was called Boxborough. For most of its history, Boxborough was a rural farming community, the major commodities being sheep and cattle. Within the past fifty years, however, suburban development has drastically altered the community. Now, the town exists on the fringe between suburban and rural, with affluent suburbanites making up a large portion of the population, and the formerly dominant farmers finding themselves increasingly marginalized.
