Waukegan is a city and county seat of Lake County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 87,901. A 2003 census estimated the city population to be 91,452. It is the ninth-largest city in Illinois by population. It is the fifth-largest city on the western shore of Lake Michigan, after Chicago, Milwaukee, Green Bay, and Kenosha. Waukegan is located at 42°22'21?N 87°51'41?W? / ?42.3725°N 87.86139°W? / 42.3725; -87.86139 (42.372471, -87.861521). Waukegan is on the shore of Lake Michigan, about 8 miles south of the border with Wisconsin and 40 miles north of downtown Chicago, at an elevation of about 669 feet above sea level. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 59.8 km² (23.1 mi²). 59.6 km² (23.0 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it (0.35%) is water.

Highland Park Illinois - Population: 31,365
Highland Park is a city in the Moraine Township of Lake County, Illinois, United States. The population was 31,365 at the 2000 census. Highland Park is one of several towns on the North Shore of Chicago characterized by its affluence.
Highland Park has several attractions including a downtown shopping district and Ravinia Festival, the summer home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and a nightly music program covering classical, blues, jazz, and rock.
The Ravinia Festival is located in the Ravinia District, an area in the southern part of Highland Park that was incorporated as the Village of Ravinia before being annexed to Highland Park in 1899. The Ravinia District was originally an artists' colony, and still retains much of its early character and architecture.
Highland Park has several landmark structures listed in the National Register of Historic Places, notably the Willits House by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Gurnee Illinois - Population: 28,834
Gurnee is a village in Lake County, Illinois, United States. The population was 28,834 at the 2000 census, and estimated to be 30,772 in 2005.
Early settlers in the Gurnee area came by foot horseback and by "Prairie Schooners" drawn by oxen or via the Erie Canal and the Great Lakes. They came from the town of Warren, New York, which was named in honor of Major General Joseph Warren, killed at the Battle of Bunker Hill. Warren Township, formed in 1850, was also named after him. The first settlement of Warren Township commenced in 1835 in the vicinity of the Aux Plaines River (now the Des Plaines River).

Lake Forest Illinois - Population: 20,059
Lake Forest is an affluent city in Lake County, Illinois, United States. The population was 20,059 at the 2000 census. The city is south of Waukegan, Illinois, on the shore of Lake Michigan, and is a part of the Chicago metropolitan area and the North Shore.
Lake Forest was founded around its college and laid out as a town in 1857 as a stop for travelers making their way south to Chicago. The headquarters of Tenneco, Brunswick (both Fortune 500 companies), and BFG Technologies are located in unincorporated Lake Forest. The Chicago Bears training facility opened in 1997 in west Lake Forest, and the Chicago Fire now train at the Bears' previous facility located on the campus of Lake Forest College. Robert Redford filmed Ordinary People, the story of a Lake Forest family, on location in 1980, and the movie went on to win Best Picture at the Academy Awards. Actor Vince Vaughn graduated from Lake Forest High School, as did author Dave Eggers and musician Andrew Bird.

Lincolnshire Illinois - Population: 6,108
Lincolnshire is a village in Lake County, Illinois, United States. The population was 6,108 at the 2000 census. It is the headquarters of Hewitt Associates, Quill Corporation, and Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America, as well as Newman/Haas Racing, an auto racing team in the Champ Car World Series.
The village began in 1955 when land was purchased to build a residential subdivision. This original subdivision was built in the area south of route 22, north of Cambridge Ave, west of Riverwoods Road, and east of the Des Plaines River. Lincolnshire was incorporated on August 5, 1957.
Despite its rather small population, the Half Day Road-Milwaukee Avenue area is a major retail corridor. The area also experiences heavy traffic at peak hours on these arterial roads.
