Champaign is a city in Champaign County, Illinois, in the United States. As reported in the 2000 U.S. Census, the city was home to 67,518 people. The city held a 2007 special census the city's population is 75,220, gaining 7,702 people from the 2000 census.[1] The mayor is Gerald Schweighart, whose term will expire in 2007. The city is notable for sharing the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with its twin city of Urbana.

Urbana (pronounced [?'bæn?]) is the county seat of Champaign County, Illinois, United States. As of the 2005 population estimates, the population was 38,463. The city was named after Urbana, Ohio.
Urbana shares a border with the neighboring town of Champaign. Together the two cities are often referred to as Urbana-Champaign, Champaign-Urbana, or Chambana. The joint cities are the site of the main campus of the University of Illinois. Urbana, Champaign, and the nearby village of Savoy form the Champaign-Urbana Metropolitan Area.

Rantoul Illinois - Population: 12,857
Rantoul is a village in Champaign County, Illinois, United States. The population was 12,918 at the 2000 census; however, by 2007 it had shrunk to 12,402. The community was named after Robert Rantoul, director of the Illinois Central Railroad. In 1917, Rantoul was chosen to be the site of the Chanute Field due to its proximity to the Illinois Central railroad and the War Department’s ground school housed at the University of Illinois. In the 1930s, Chanute grew, dominating the local economy as thousands of Airmen were stationed there to train new recruits who cycled in and out. Renamed Chanute Air Force Base after World War II, the base was closed in 1993, and partly reoccupied by the Octave Chanute Aerospace Museum and the Rantoul National Aviation Center. The major employers in Rantoul are C.I. Telecom, JELD-WEN, Bell Sports, Bell Racing, Combe Laboratories, Eagle Wings Ind., Conair Corporation, Microfilm Service, AT&T, and Pactuco.
