Aurora is a city in Kane, DuPage, Will and Kendall counties in Illinois, United States. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 142,990, making it the third-largest city in Illinois; in 2003, a special census found the city's population to be 157,267. Some Aurora residents claim this makes it the second-largest city in Illinois, behind Chicago and just ahead of Rockford, but Rockford was not recounted at the same time, thus the matter may not be settled until the 2010 US Census. About 110,000 of the city's residents reside in Kane County, while about 42,000 live in DuPage County. Only a few thousand Aurorans are in Will and Kendall Counties. The city refers to itself as "The City of Lights" because it was one of the first communities to adopt all-electric street lighting (in 1881 - the nickname was adopted in 1908).

Warrenville Illinois - Population: 13,363
Warrenville, or "Da Ville," as it is known by younger townfolk, was founded in 1833 when Julius Warren and his family moved west from New York seeking a fresh start from a failing gristmill and distillery. Daniel Warren, Julius' father, claimed land at what is now McDowell Woods, and Julius claimed land at what is now the Warrenville Grove Forest Preserve. The first major establishment, an inn/tavern, was built in 1838 by Julius Warren himself, as the family was skilled in timber and grain. The Inn still stands today, and was renovated in 2002. Warrenville is politically considered more liberal then its other neighboring towns.
The town quickly blossomed with two mills and a plank road connecting it with Naperville and Winfield, on which Julius operated a stage coach line. The town failed at its bid to have the railroad come through the town. However, in 1901, the Chicago Aurora and Elgin Railroad came through town, which lasted until the 1950s.
