Palm Bay Florida - Population: 79,413
The Timucuan Indians, attracted to the mouth of Turkey Creek at the Indian River by fresh water springs and plentiful fish, oysters, and wildlife, are thought to have been the first civilization in the Palm Bay area. Palm Bay's recent history began in the 1850's when the first white settlers, also drawn by the bounty and beauty of the area, built homes along Turkey Creek. Originally referred to as Tillman, the settlement was described as a "small strip of hammock...on each side of Turkey Creek...mostly pine and palmetto, miserable sandy barren oak scrub, some ponds and interspersed with sawgrass and gallberry."
By the mid-nineteenth century, there was a lumbering operation, packing house, and orange groves, but growth was slow until the arrival of the railroad in 1894. Now goods could be brought in and produce could be shipped to market faster, encouraging more families to immigrate to the area.

In the Melbourne/Palm Bay area, there are 33 miles of uncrowded, clean and sandy Atlantic beaches, such as Spessard Holland in Melbourne Beach and the Boardwalk/5th Avenue in Indialantic. Melbourne is a center for water sports such as boating, fishing, sailboarding, scuba diving, surfing, water & jet skiing.

Satellite Beach Florida - Population: 9,577
Satellite Beach is located at 28°10'24?N, 80°35'48?W (28.173441, -80.596674)GR1. It is known to being referred to as a barrier city because it lies on an island that is situated in front of the mainland. It is accessible by the Pineda Causeway (State Road 404) and the Eau Gallie Causeway, both of which come from the neighboring city of Melbourne. It is mainly a beachy area only a few feet above sea level. There is barely any elevation due to its location near the ocean and most of the ground is just beach sand, crushed shells, and small layer of top soil followed by the ocean water below.

Indialantic is located at 28°5'16?N, 80°34'8?W (28.087861, -80.568857)GR1. It is situated on the barrier island that separates the Indian River Lagoon from the Atlantic Ocean.
