Attractions in vicinity of North Miami Beach include a line of popular ocean beaches. Haulover Park, operated by Miami-Dade County Parks and Recreation, has a well known clothing optional beach. North Miami Beach also has an authentic Medieval Spanish monastery. This stone building around a patio, the cloisters of the Monastery of St. Bernard de Clairvaux, was built in Sacramenia, Segovia, Spain in the 12th century. It was purchased by William Randolph Hearst in the 1920s, dismantled and shipped to the United States, and reassembled after Hearst's death in North Miami Beach in the 1950s. It is a tourism attraction and a popular spot for weddings.

Miami Beach Florida - Population: 87,933
In 1979 Miami Beach's Art Deco Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Art Deco District is the largest collection of Art Deco architecture in the world and is comprised of hundreds of hotels, apartments and other structures erected between 1923 and 1943. The Historic District is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the East, Lenox Court on the West, 6th Street on the South and Dade Boulevard along the Collins Canal to the North. The movement to preserve the Art Deco District's architectural heritage was led by former interior designer Barbara Capitman, who now has a street in the District named in her honor.

North Miami Florida - Population: 59,880

Carol Florida - Population: 59,443

Aventura Florida - Population: 25,267
Most of what would later become the City of Aventura was initially developed during the late 1970s and into the 80s as a high-rise residential area by Oxford Development Company, when the area was still mostly swampland known as Biscayne Gardens. Some of the Miami area's tallest and most prestigious condominium towers are located there.
Aventura is also home to the Aventura Mall, a high-end regional mall which was developed by Donny Soffer and Eddie Lewis of Oxford Development and is currently owned by Simon Property Group and Soffer's Turnberry Associates. The enormous success of the mall encouraged explosive growth in the area, and on November 7, 1995, the City of Aventura was incorporated.

Opa-Locka Florida - Population: 14,951
Opa-locka has an area of 4.2 square miles and is located in the north western area of Miami-Dade County, Florida. The city was developed by Glenn Curtiss and was based on the Arabian nights theme with streets that have names like Sabur Lane, Sultan Avenue, Ali Baba Avenue, and Sesame Street. The name Opa-locka is a contraction of the Native Americans' name for the area, “Opa-tisha-woka-locka”, meaning a dry place in the swamp with trees. Some notable facts: Amelia Earhart launched her historic trip around the world from Miami Municipal Airport, just south of Opa-locka.[1] The Graf Zeppelin, the second largest airship ever, visited the NAS Miami, which later became Opa-locka Airport, as a regular stop on its Germany-Brazil-United States-Germany scheduled route.
