Guilford Connecticut - Population: 22,373
Guilford is a town in New Haven County, Connecticut, United States, situated on I-95 and the coast. The population was 21,398 at the 2000 census. It was named one of the top 100 places to live in the United States by Money magazine in 2005.
First settled in 1639, Guilford has the third largest collection of historic homes in New England, with important buildings from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. There are five historic house museums, including Dudley Farm, which hosts a farmers' market on Saturdays.
There is a sizable arts community in Guilford, with the Guilford Arts Center offering workshops, a school, a gallery, and a shop.
For recreation, the town offers two public beaches, three public marinas, the private Guilford Yacht Club, both public and private tennis courts, the Guilford Lakes Golf Course, and many trails for hiking or riding. The town hosts free concerts on the green in August.

Madison Connecticut - Population: 18,793
Madison is a town in the southeastern corner of New Haven County, Connecticut, and it occupies a central location on the Connecticut Shoreline area. The population was 17,858 at the 2000 census.
Madison was first settled in 1641. Throughout the 18th century, Madison was known as East Guilford until it was incorporated as a town in the mid-19th century. Since then Madison and Guilford have shared many cultural and economic similarities despite an unofficial high school rivalry.
Since the 1860s Madison was considered a summer community. The town is known for its desirable, expensive beachfront property; the population increases sharply following Memorial Day, as summer residents move in. More recently, it has become a year round suburb and local property values have been rising at a considerable rate since the mid-1990s.

Old Saybrook Connecticut - Population: 1,962
The Connecticut colony purchased the land and fort at Saybrook Point from Colonel Fenwick in 1644 to form the three original colonies of New Haven, Saybrook, and Connecticut (Hartford).
The design of the Flag of Connecticut comes from the seal of Saybrook Colony when it was established in 1639. The seal depicted 15 grapevines and a hand in the upper left corner with a scroll reading "Sustinet qui transtulit".
Established in late 1653, Old Saybrook was originally known as The Saybrook Colony and claimed possession of the land through a deed of conveyance from the Earl of Warwick.
In 1659, settlers from Old Saybrook purchased land from Chief Uncas, founder of the Native American Tribe Mohegan to found Norwich, Connecticut Norwich was founded in 1659 when settlers from Old Saybrook, Connecticut purchased land from Chief Uncas founder of the Native American Tribe Mohegan.
