Casa Grande was founded in 1879 during the Arizona mining boom and became Incorporated in 1915. It was named after the Hohokam ruins at the nearby Casa Grande Ruins National Monument. A major railroad terminated in Casa Grande, which was originally named "Terminus". One of the founding fathers of Casa Grande was Thompson Rodney Peart, Went by the name of "T.R. Peart" Born in woods N.D. married to Lillian Cordelia Weaver.The Peart Center and Peart Road are named for T.R. The economy of Casa Grande was historically based on rural, agricultural industries such as cotton and dairy farms. Over time, the city has become home to many Phoenix or Tucson urbanites who own homes in Casa Grande. Most residents either commute north to work in the Phoenix metropolitan area or to the south to work in Tucson. This trend has contributed to growth in the service industry of Casa Grande. Many new businesses such as restaurants, gas stations, and retail outlets are opening all over the city.

As of the census of 2000, there were 11,936 people, 6,683 households, and 4,798 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 879.5/km² (2,278.7/mi²). There were 7,746 housing units at an average density of 570.8/km² (1,478.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.37% White, 0.78% Black or African American, 0.13% Native American, 0.32% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.10% from other races, and 0.29% from two or more races. 0.94% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There were 6,683 households out of which 0.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.5% were married couples living together, 1.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.2% were non-families. 25.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 20.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.79 and the average family size was 2.06.

Arizona City Arizona - Population: 4,385
Arizona City is a census-designated place (CDP) in Pinal County, Arizona, United States. The population was 4,385 at the 2000 census. From time to time, most recently in 2007, attempts have been made to incorporate as a municipality, but they have so far always been defeated at the ballot box, except for the first effort, which succeeded at the ballot box but was not accepted because there were not enough residents to incorporate. Shopping in Arizona City is limited. The two main stores in town are a Dollar General, and a locally owned "Tumbleweed Market". There are a number of local restaurants, and also a Dominos Pizza that opened in late 2007. For other shopping needs, residents generally travel to Eloy, AZ, or Casa Grande, AZ. There is a golf course local to Arizona City that includes a club house.

Maricopa Arizona - Population: 1,040
Maricopa is a city (during the 2000 census was a census-designated place) in Pinal County, Arizona, United States. During a December 31, 2005 special census, the fast-growing city was reported to have a population of 15,934. Arizona Republic article 5/5/2006
City officials cited in a May 2006 Arizona Republic article said the city's population was "closer to 21,000" and could hit 100,000 by 2011.
By comparison, in the 2000 census, the CDP population was 1,040.
The city was officially incorporated on October 15, 2003, becoming the 88th incorporated city in Arizona. The city's first special census was completed Saturday, March 13, 2004 and showed a population of 4,998.
Maricopa is currently the nearest stop to Phoenix on the Sunset Limited Amtrak line. The Maricopa depot opened in 2001. In the mid-1990s, Southern Pacific (later Union Pacific) threatened to abandon 83 miles of track on the "West Line" between Phoenix and Yuma.
